INTRODUCTION

Welcome to this little history of the boats my father served in while in the Royal Naval Patrol Service (RNPS) during WW2. His name was William Gordon, born in Paisley, Scotland, in 1918.  He served as an Ordinary Seaman, then a Steward, and then a Cook. His ships were the minesweeper HMD Harvest Reaper,  the torpedo recovery trawler HMT Sheen, and the Anti-submarine trawlers HMT Imperialist and HMT Haarlem. He also briefly served on a harbour defence motor launch,  (ML1130), and HMT Brock.

If you are looking for specific information on the boats, then go to their pages on the list at the top of the blog where there is more information . There is also a general page which covers stories by, and information on, RNPS seamen and their ships. And, of course, a page with the photographs of my father and his shipmates.
